Cantilever Gates: Common Questions
What's the difference between a cantilever and a standard sliding gate?
A standard sliding gate rides on a ground track. A cantilever gate hangs from carriages on the support posts and has no ground track, which makes it ideal for gravel, snow and uneven surfaces.
Do cantilever gates need more space?
They need clear fence line beside the opening for the gate to slide into, typically about the width of the opening plus a counterbalance section. We'll confirm space on site.
Can a cantilever gate be automated?
Yes. Most of our cantilever gates are installed with automatic operators and keypad or remote access.
